Classical Music Under The Stars With T’ang Quartet
Enjoy a night at the Supertree Grove, accompanied by Chamber music from T’ang Quartet. Trained in London and Moscow, the Quartet found its genesis when they were still members of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Formed in 1992, they have embarked on a musical journey together, continuing to evolve, surprising and delighting audiences with their innovative dexterity.

The performances and exhibition provide a window to the vibrant curriculum and stimulating programmes enjoyed by SOTA students, and show their personal transformation into creative leaders inspired by the Arts to enrich all dimensions of community.

In celebration of experimentation, expression and discovery, SOTA remains committed to shape each student’s holistic development through their artistic journey.

Special Tour to Ong Sam Leong
Time: 9am to 11.30am

Ong Sam Leong, made his fortune on the island by recruiting “coolies” from Kwantung Province to work on the phosphate mines. John Hunt, author of “Suffering Through Strength” – the story of Christmas Island (1899 – 1948) emphasizing the Chinese coolie experience – will be a guest participant and share some insights of their hardships at the Ong Sam Leong family cluster, where they will end their tour of Hill 3.

This tour is in support of a talk co-organised by the Singapore Heritage Society and Select Books by the author at 3pm the same afternoon at Select Books.

Meeting Place:
Under the large and beautiful, and possibly endangered, rain tree, at the Roundabout after the main gate on your left.
